'Phoenix Rising' Benefit Concert For Station Family Fund; Video Report Available
February 27, 2008New England Cable News (NECN) aired a three-minute report on Monday night's (February 25) Phoenix Rising benefit concert to raise money for the Station Family Fund, which distributes funds to victims and survivors of The Station nightclub fire. The fire, which claimed 100 lives and severely injured two hundred others five years ago, was caused when pyrotechnics during a GREAT WHITE concert engulfed the West Warwick club.
The Phoenix Rising benefit concert took place at the Dunkin Donut Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Among the artists that performed were TWISTED SISTER, Tom Scholz (BOSTON),Aaron Lewis (STAIND),TESLA and STRYPER.
All proceeds from ticket sales and charity auctions benefit the Station Family Fund, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization founded by survivors of the Station nightclub fire. They are committed to providing survivor relief, including costs of ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
